August 2010 Updates

This month I take on a new position as an Information Literacy and Reference Services library at Dalhousie University Libraries.  I’ll be splitting my time between the Killam Memorial Library (i.e., where the Arts and Sciences and Management collections are housed) and the Kellogg Library (i.e., where the Health Sciences collection is housed).

I have also taken on the role of Treasurer for Imagine Bloomfield, a local not-for-profit that is trying to steer Halifax Regional Municipality toward redevelopment of the Bloomfield Centre in a manner that maintains its focus as a community and arts centre.

Finally, in case you missed the message – I separated my blog from this website this spring.  This now site serves basically as a place to hold my portfolio.  The blog is now located at thezeds.com , and its RSS feed is http://feeds.feedburner.com/thezeds .

Cheers,

Michael.

About

I’m an Information Literacy and Reference Services librarian at Dalhousie University Libraries in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.  I split my time between the Killam Memorial Library, where the Arts and Sciences and Management collection is housed, and the Kellogg Library, which holds the health sciences collection.

My professional interests lie in understanding how libraries nurture learning on campus through their print and digital collections, through programming, and by using new and old technologies.  My scholarly interests lie in the intersections between technology and culture, information policy and ethics, and social justice.

My blog on academic librarianship can at thezeds.com.

Except where sourced and cited, posts on this website are my original content. Some of the content can be considered brainstorming for papers and proceedings, while other content has been distilled from such ephemera.

The contents of this website do not reflect the opinions held by my employer or other organizations I associate with.  Comments are always welcomed so long as they aren’t offensive. Criticism is also encouraged, so long as it is constructive.
